Bushido Performance began in 2023 at the intersection of two different shops and a single mounting frustration.

The idea first took shape in the bay of a mechanic shop. It started by noticing something that had quietly become normal in the industry: parts were no longer designed with quality in mind. They were designed for quantity. Components frequently arrived incomplete, poorly designed, or made from materials that were never meant to last.

One moment in particular made that reality impossible to ignore.

After ordering a muffler for a customer, the part arrived without the hardware required to install it. What should have been a straightforward repair suddenly turned into a frustrating scramble to find the missing pieces just to finish the job.

It raised a simple question: If manufacturers know these parts require additional hardware, why isn't it included?

Instead of accepting the problem, the decision was made to fix it. Bushido Performance began by closing that gap, offering complete muffler kits that included everything required for installation. No missing hardware. No extra trips to the parts store. No guesswork.

It was a small change, but it solved a real problem mechanics and drivers faced every day. And that small solution laid the foundation for something much larger.

The Moment That Changed Everything

About two years later, a move was made to a supply shop that provided parts for commercial fleets. That was where the spark for fabrication truly ignited.

One day, a customer walked in looking for two specific brackets: A33-1266-100 and A33-1268. The shop owner had no interest in stocking them and turned the customer away.

But where the shop saw an inconvenience, there was an opportunity. The decision was made to recreate the brackets from scratch.

At first, the goal was simple, just reproduce the part. But once the original design was studied more closely, a deeper problem became clear. The issue wasn't just availability. The design itself was flawed.

Most OEM brackets were made from brittle plastic that could fail from a single blunt impact. Even replacing the material with something stronger wouldn't fully solve the issue, because the structure itself lacked durability.

That realization sparked nearly a year of relentless redesign. Instead of asking how to replicate the part, a new question took its place: How do you make it better?

Version after version was created, tested, improved, and rebuilt. Each iteration strengthened weak points, reinforced stress areas, and refined the materials until the bracket evolved into something entirely different from the original.

Then came the turning point.

The fleets that had originally needed the brackets came back, not to complain, but to compliment the redesign. They noticed the parts were lasting significantly longer than the originals and continued purchasing the improved versions.

That was the moment Bushido Performance became more than a small side project. It became proof that parts didn't have to be copied. They could be re-engineered to outperform the original design.

Why We Chose the Name Bushido

That philosophy is exactly why we chose the name Bushido Performance.

Bushido is rooted in an ancient code of values centered on honor, discipline, and the lifelong pursuit of mastery. While there are many interpretations of Bushido, three principles stood out as the foundation for how we wanted to build this company:

Honor. Discipline. Mastery.

Honor means doing things the right way, even when no one is watching. In business, that means fair pricing, honest communication, and building parts we can truly stand behind. It means treating customers, partners, and suppliers with respect and transparency.

Discipline is the commitment to consistency and responsibility. Strong relationships with customers, fleets, and repair shops are built through reliability and trust over time. Discipline means listening to real world problems, maintaining those connections, and continuously improving based on the needs of the people who rely on our products.

Mastery is the mindset that drives everything we design. It means refusing to settle for “good enough.” Whether engineering a new component or refining an existing one, mastery requires the time, effort, and attention necessary to build something genuinely better.
